The Kilcock Leinster Senior League Saturday team won 4-1 on Saturday afternoon against Dundrum FC in the Bawnogues in what was an exciting game of football. Kilcock were slow getting into the game but took control of the ball and got a goal after 20 mins from Alaba who capitalised on a mix up at the back from the visitors. Kilcock were on top thereafter but another mix up at the back this time from Kilcock led to Dundrum getting back into the game on the stroke of half time, the teams went in tied at 1-1. Kilcock knew they could pick it up a couple of levels and started the second half brightly. The Celts retook the lead after a great piece of play by Jamie Kelly who laid the ball to Jack Foley who scored the goal of the game from 20 yards out. Kilcock continued to put pressure on Dundrum seeking a third goal with Kelly in particular causing huge problems for the Dublin side. Kilcock made a few changes in the second half, with David Keogh making an instant impact with an excellent pass to Alaba Yusuf who cut in on his right and cooly slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 3-1 to the hosts. Shortly after the restart, Kilcock won a penalty after substitute Luke Jordan played Alaba Yusuf in on goal but he was fouled in the box. Kilcock’s top scorer made no mistake from the spot as he made it four. Dundrum themselves won a penalty late on but unfortunately for the visitors the spot kick went over the bar. Great result for the Celts who now move onto an away game next week against Blessington.
