The Leinster Senior League Saturday team drew 2-2 away to Blessington today. A combination of hazy rain, fog and a poor pitch made for a haphazard game where either side couldn’t take control of the game. Kilcock took a slender lead going in at half time with the score being 1-0 to the Celts, thanks to a goal from Alaba Yusuf. Kilcock started the second half brightly and began to finally have some control of the game, getting the ball down and switching play well from left to right. The Celts doubled their lead thanks to a switch of play from Calvin Flanagan on the right hand side finding Lee Loughnane in space, and Lee took his chance well slotting it home to make it 2-0 to Kilcock. The story wasn’t to end there though as Blessington didn’t give up and from two separate corner kicks where Kilcock turned off they took their chances and got two goals to level the game. Kilcock made a late attempt to retake the lead once again and hit the post on two separate occasions when pressing for the winner but unfortunately it wasn’t to be Kilcock's day.
