Kilcock were at home to Glen Magic F.C. on Wednesday evening looking to bounce back after last weeks defeat in the EWFL Teresa Healy Memorial Cup. Glen Magic got off to a fast start and scored within 6 minutes of kick off. Kilcock suffered a huge blow in the 7th minute with an injury to centre back Rachel Fagan. The Celts regrouped however and in the 19th minute Sally O’Reilly found the back of the Glen Magic net with a superb strike scoring her first goal of the season to bring the game level. Kilcock had much of the possession for the next few minutes however conceded a second goal in the 30th minute against the run of play to put Glen Magic back in the lead. In the 36th minute the Glen Magic goalkeeper pulled off a fantastic save from a shot from Leona Pozgaj, who was rewarded a minute later with a great goal for the Celts to bring the game back to 2 a piece.
Kilcock dominated the opening exchanges in the second half of the game but were unable to capitalise. Buoyed by this, Glen Magic began to grow in confidence and were unlucky not to find themselves in the lead when Maren Murphy pulled off a great save in the 66th minute in her first full game in goal to keep the sides level. Kilcock weathered the storm and began to pile on the pressure once again. This was rewarded in the 78th minute when Leona Pozgaj scored her second goal of the game putting the Celts ahead (3-2). Kilcock weren't finished there however, in the 88th minute Leona Pozgaj secured her third goa & her second hat-trick of the season to secure a very valuable 3 points for the Celts with the final score seeing Kilcock beat Glen Magic by four goals to two.
